Designer
Spotlight: Gail
Claridge
Gail Claridge always had a passion for
antiques, and while fixing her own home she found out
she had an eye for design too, that is
when her career was born. Gail was one of the first
women to ever get a contractors license which affords
her the ability to completely oversee her projects
which was specially important while renovating her home
in Somis (featured in California
Homes) and the
construction and design of her daughter and son in
law, Linda and "Hulk" Hogan's home, which can
be seen on the show Hogan knows best.
Being an
authority in antiques, we ask Gail to give us some
suggestions:
- "A special piece can stand on
its own" if it clashes with your room, don't buy it.
- Use 3 layers of lighting
(ceiling, chandelier and lamp) to enhance the
piece and make it stand out in the room.
- Always ask a lot of questions
to the dealer, he should be able to tell you about the
period of the piece and even the particular history of
it.

Westlake
Village Interior Design Center and
Outlet
With an
interest for antiques and an eye for design, Gail
Claridge started a design business that has grown and
expanded and will be once again transformed, this time
into her new vision: a Designer Center, the only one of
its kind between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Gail has
acquired a new 10,000 sq.ft. warehouse to accommodate
her retail space as well as other designers and vendors;
she will be expanding it with the 20,000 sq.ft. facility
next door to move her design firm and create a design
and resource center in the area.
Architectural Detail Group is among
the featured vendors in the new retail space, here you
will be able to buy and order pieces from our lighting
line as well as look at our projects book on iron work,
lighting and furniture. For more information contact adg

MS Update by Carrie
Olesker
As most of you know now, finding a
cure for Multiple Sclerosis is a cause near and dear to
my heart and this year I am particularly excited about
the MS Society events because a new route has been added
to the schedule and I will finally be able to walk in
the Conejo Valley alongside friends and family.
This season the adg team will be
attending the April 6th walk at the Rose Bowl and
the Conejo Valley Walk on April 12. If you would like to
walk with us or make a contribution please visit our MS
Team page here.
Thank you so much for
your support.

I leave you this week with some words
of wisdom from Gail:
"when working with a designer,
age does not matter, good design is timeless and service
is everything"
